My Movie

On Friday, Papi was trying to videtape me and, as you'll see, I got real close to the camera. So close that I was able to take the camera away from him and shoot my own movie. I hope you enjoy it!

Wasn't that exciting? I hope to be able to show it at the Shenandoah Toddler Film Festival this year!

Sorry, but I don't have a lot to say this week. It's been busy with my schedule.

Night-night!

Baby Steps

Hiya!

Mommy and Papi think they heard me say "Mama" today. They're not sure if I'm saying "Mama" in context or if I'm just repeating random syllables. Only I know for sure. But they're going to count it anyway.

I also took another step toward maturation this week. Take a look!:

Whew!

And I've been practicing my dance moves, too. I have to, you see. Singing lead in a new band, I rely on a few helpful moves to underscore the lyrics. You know, like Mick Jagger does. But enough about him. Watch me get my groove on!:

I hope you had a nice weekend. I sure did. All this moving around has pooped me out, so I'm heading to bed. Good night!

Viva!

Hola! Feliz 16 Septiembre!

Today is September 16, which is Mexican Independence Day. To celebrate, I wore a traditional Mexican dress. See how it matches my eyes? Pos . . .

Besos!

What a Week!

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has come to a joyous close and your new week begins with a prosperous outlook. What a mouthful!

I'm settling back into a routine, now that we've been in Harrisonburg for six weeks. Here's my weekday schedule:

6:30 or so: I wake up and drink a bottle

7:30: Papi takes me to day care

During the day: I eat breakfast, have a nap, play with other babies, eat lunch, crawl all over the place, and give no one any trouble

5:00: Papi picks me up from day care

6:00: I eat dinner

6:30: I have a bath

7:00: I have another bottle and go to sleep.

My day is soooo cramped. You wouldn't understand.

But even with this busy schedule, I've found time to start a band. It's called

Lexie and the Adventure Femmes

Mommy is one of the Femmes. We don't have any others yet to justify the plural, but she says Papi could be one. He says he has to think about it.

I'm working on a new song! Here's a listen:

I haven't quite found my sound yet. So I'm experimenting with some nontraditional instruments. Oye. I call it Doing-Doing.

What do you think?

Did you check out last week's video of me walking with the rolly thing? Watch this!:

Yesterday, we went to the Obama election headquaters in Harrisonburg and we signed his good-luck book. I will turn one year old three days after he is elected president. What a happy birthday it will be! Papi says, though, that the polls indicate a negative shift in Obama's numbers. I don't know what that means, but Papi says the race will be very, very close. Buena suerte, Barack! Obamanos!

Kisses!

10 Months

Hiya. Today I am 10 months old. To celebrate, we went to Bridgewater--just a hop, skip, and a jump from my town--to feed the ducks that live in a park. I was scared at first, because when they saw us, they came running over. They were led by this huge goose, who honked her way over to me. And I cried. But I got used to them.

And here're some lilipads in a pond in the park. I've never seen them before, and daddy said he'd never seen any either. Aren't they beautiful? Look at that flower! Hijole!

Earlier in the day, I impressed Mommy and Daddy with a new trick: walking with a rolly thing. Here's a vid.

I'm not walking on my own yet, but I can balance for up to four seconds. That's a lot. I can't even count that high, but Mommy and Daddy say that's great.

Later today, we went swinging at another park--but this one was down the street from our house. Here's a view:

Well, that's all I have time for today. I've been typing so much lately, my fingernails are growing too fast! Besos!
